So, after unboxing the monitor (great packing by the way!!) the very first thing I did was pull up a black backlight bleed test and killed the lights in the room. That is a flaw that I don't think I could live with as I would see it every single time I sat down in front of it. I was extremely nervous of reviews that talked of backlight bleed with the U2713HM. But the Shellshocker price on this was too hard to pass up.
Over the years all monitors I would read about would always seem to have one thing that reviews complained about that my monitor didn't have wrong with it and it was always enough to just keep what I had.

I have been hesitant about nearly every monitor I thought I may want to upgrade to because the 2405 had set such a high benchmark for me. I replaced a Dell 2405FPW that I have been more than happy with for about 7 years. Overall Review: I am so far highly impressed with this monitor. But don't let the 1 egg dissuade you from giving this monitor a chance. Out of curiosity, why would someone who owns a U2711 spend $699 for a LCD so he could place it side to side with the U2711 to further scrutinize this monitor? If you knew it was a P-IPS (even though it isn't), why waste the money since it's not a "real IPS."? I'd recommend doing research if you still have doubts. Also, to give this monitor 1 egg because it is not supposedly a "real IPS" is puerile and misleading to other potential purchasers. A quick search on Dell's website will confirm these facts. S-IPS came out in 1998 and H-IPS was recently developed in 2007. Moreover, Dell's U2711, U2411, and U3011 are all H-IPS, not S-IPS. First of all, this monitor is an AH-IPS, not P-IPS. Overall Review: Just wanted to clarify some misleading information posted by another user for this monitor.
